Neartown Little League delivered a night to remember in the first round of the 2025 Blue Gray Championship Bracket in Lamar. In what felt like a scripted moment of glory, Neartown’s 12U, 11U, and 10U teams all faced off against Post Oak Little League—and all three teams emerged victorious.
12U defeated POLL 8–5
11U won a thriller, 3–2 in extra innings
10U secured a 3–1 victory
While each game was a standout, the 11U matchup stole the spotlight. Tied 1–1 through six innings, the game extended into extras. In the top of the 8th, Post Oak took a one-run lead. But in the bottom of the inning, Neartown loaded the bases. Then, in a moment of poetic redemption, Cass McKeithen—who had struck out twice earlier—walked it off with a clutch at-bat, sealing the 3–2 win.
With the 12U and 10U games already wrapped up, players and families crowded the sidelines to witness the final moments of the 11U game. As the winning run crossed the plate, players from all three teams stormed the field in an unforgettable celebration of unity and triumph.
